My name is Ian McIntyre

I have been composing for over fifteen years. It all started for me when I decided to write lyrics in my spare time. This I found enjoyable as it provided me with a different kind of musical experience.

As a consequence of this, I decided to teach myself how to read and write music to the lyrics I had written over a period of years and decided to buy myself a keyboard.

I was in a local library around this time and saw an advert in a music paper for The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers and after making a quick call. decided to join and turn my dreams into reality. I write songs in Pop, Dance, Rock and Country genres.

I've written over a hundred songs but have only sent a few to publishers in the past as I didn't want to distract myself from developing my skills as a songwriter. I'm interested in my songs being published but have no specific artist in mind as I believe the process of songwriting should be as objective as possible.

This can be challenging as I like everyone I am influenced by what music I have enjoyed over the years.

My musical influences are: ABBA, Blondie, Hazel Dean, David Grey, Lionel Ritchie and I listen to hi-energy dance an chart / ex chart music to basically whatever appeals to me.
